Following successful completion of your IQC, the ASA will send you the instructor credentials and graduation letter.
Candidates will learn to teach how to skipper and crew aboard a sloop-rigged keelboat of approximately 20 to 30 feet in length daily in winds up to 20 knots. It is designed for sailors interested in building their core sailing skills, including sail trim and close-quarter maneuvering. The course covers more advanced sailing skills and sail trim. Depart, sail, and return with control, demonstrating teamwork. Safety, Preparation & Procedures, Boat Handling, Upwind Sail Trim, Reaching and Running Sail Trim, Sail Shape and Power, and How Sail Controls Affect Sail Shape and Power.
This IQC training course combines classroom and on-the-water instruction. Passing the written exams, on-the-water and classroom teaching evaluations, you will earn your ASA Basic Coastal Cruising Sailing Instructor 202 certification.
